2.0.19 and newer Adobe Connect Building Block Installation Guide

2.0.15 and earlier Adobe Connect Building Block Installation Guide

This release fixes a critical issue affecting versions 2.0.16 to 2.0.18 that caused server CPU usage to increase continually under certain conditions after an error occurred.

There is a new setting to improve error handling when Adobe Connect is configured to require accounts to use the e-mail address as the login. Note that when this setting is enabled, Blackboard users who do not have an email address will not be able to have accounts created for them automatically by the building block and they will not appear in the available participants list.

Other features that were added since 2.0.17:

•Improved form validation: better error messages are displayed and the form values are kept if the meeting name or URL contain invalid characters
•Improved logging: the AdobeConnectPro.log file has been replaced by a standard Blackboard log (blackboard/logs/custom/adobe-cp.log.txt), which can be viewed from the System Logs section of the Bb System Admin tab
•Improved debug mode: debugging can now be enabled from the building block’s settings page (no need to directly edit the config file on the file system)
•Improved connection troubleshooting: the building block’s settings page contains a connection status indicator, which verifies that the Connect Pro server URL is correct and that the server is running
•Support for redirecting from insecure to secure (HTTPS/TLS) Adobe Connect URLs.
